Thin Places

By Judy Kintner

That sudden feeling of awe;

That quiet moment so serene;

Those times that cause us to pause

Are the thin places that are like a dream.

When a place you’ve never visited,

Or a song you’ve never heard,

Appears without notice and

Moves you to tears -

This Thin Place has engaged you

And reminded you to feel

All the spirits that God gives us

And the peace that makes us heal.

Your heart and spirit rise up to grasp

The feeling of God’s love at last.

A warmth or tenderness calming to you

That means your spirits are entwined and renewed.
